Dr. Mari Kaunisto PhD, is a Senior Researcher and Communications coordinator at the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM). She defended her thesis entitled “Assignment of genetic loci and variants predisposing to migraine with aura and episodic ataxia type 2” in 2005 at the University of Helsinki. Since 2009 she has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Folkhälsan Institute of Genetics, Comorbidity of Migraine and Epilepsy Research Group (Maija Wessman, PI) and in the BrePainGen Pain Genetics Research Group (Eija Kalso, PI). During 2008–2012 she worked as a genotyping specialist and project manager in the genotyping unit of FIMM’s Technology Centre.
In GLORIA, Dr. Kaunisto is involved in GWAS analysis of pain and mood-related factors in the BrePainGen cohort.
